Political Beginnings

Narendra Modi Biography ka bachpan Gujarat ke ek chhote se shehar mein beeta. Unhone Ahmedabad ki Gujarat University se Political Science mein Master’s degree (M.A.) complete ki. 1970 ke dashak ke shuruat mein Modi Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) se jude, jo Hindutva vichaaradhaara par aadharit ek sangathan hai. Isi dauraan unhone apne shetra mein RSS ki student wing, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), ko sangathit karne mein bhi aham bhoomika nibhai. Sangathan ke andar unki lagataar badhti zimmedariyon ne aage chal kar unke rajneetik safar ko majboot aadhaar diya.

1987 mein Narendra Modi ne Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) join ki, aur sirf ek saal ke andar hi unhe Gujarat unit ka General Secretary bana diya gaya. Party ko grassroots level par majboot karne mein unka yogdaan kaafi prabhavshali raha. 1990 mein Modi ne rajya mein bani coalition sarkar ke kaaryon mein BJP ki taraf se sakriya bhoomika nibhayi. Unki sangathanik rananeeti ka hi parinaam tha ki 1995 ke Gujarat Vidhan Sabha chunav mein BJP ko badi jeet mili, jiske baad March 1995 mein rajya mein pehli baar BJP ki sarkar bani. Political Rise and Leadership in Gujarat

In 1995, Narendra Modi was appointed Secretary of the BJP’s national organization, and three years later he became the party’s General Secretary. In October 2001, he took over as Chief Minister of Gujarat following criticism of the state government’s response to the Bhuj earthquake. He entered electoral politics for the first time by winning a seat in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly in a 2002 by-election.

Modi’s tenure as chief minister faced intense scrutiny during the 2002 Gujarat riots, leading to domestic and international criticism. However, subsequent investigations and court proceedings did not result in any legal action against him. Despite the controversies, he went on to consolidate his political position.

Under his leadership, the BJP won successive Gujarat Assembly elections in 2002, 2007, and 2012. Modi earned a reputation as a decisive administrator and was credited with driving economic growth in the state. His repeated electoral victories strengthened his standing within the BJP and positioned him as a national leader.

In June 2013, Narendra Modi was named the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, marking a decisive turning point in his political career.
